Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Wagyu diced beef different from standard diced beef?
Standard diced beef is cut from forequarter muscles with moderate fat content. Our Golden Herd Heritage Wagyu diced beef has significantly more intramuscular Wagyu fat — which dissolves during slow cooking into an extraordinary richness and depth. The result is a stew or braise of a completely different calibre.
How long should I slow cook Wagyu diced beef?
For a casserole or stew: 2.5-3.5 hours at 150°C. In a slow cooker: 6-8 hours on low. The Wagyu fat renders beautifully during this time, enriching the sauce and producing meltingly tender pieces of beef. Don't rush it — the long, slow cook is what makes it exceptional.
Why might it arrive frozen?
Some Golden Herd Heritage Wagyu cuts are available seasonally in limited quantities. We freeze within 24 hours of butchering to maintain peak quality. Defrost fully in the fridge overnight before cooking.
Where do the cattle come from?
Our Golden Herd Heritage Wagyu cattle are raised on lush pastures across the British Isles. Raised in a low-emission, pasture-focused system. Hand-selected from the top 1% of cattle at slaughter.
