Made using only the finest grass fed, pasture-raised top rump from British farms, our Grass Fed Free Range Salt-Beef is a traditionally cured beef of real distinction. Slow-cured in a brine of salt, spices and aromatics, it develops the characteristically deep, savoury flavour and tender, yielding texture that great salt-beef demands. This is salt-beef with genuine provenance — made from grass fed British beef that's been raised properly and cured the proper way.

What cut of beef is used?

We use top rump — a hardworking muscle from the hindquarter that, when slow-cured and cooked low and slow, becomes beautifully tender with a deep, beefy flavour. It's the ideal cut for salt-beef: enough connective tissue to break down during curing and cooking, producing a yielding texture and concentrated flavour that leaner cuts can't match.

How should I serve salt-beef?

The classic: thickly sliced in a soft rye bagel with yellow mustard and pickled cucumbers. Also excellent served warm alongside horseradish cream and roasted root vegetables, or cold with a dressed salad of gherkins, capers and shallots. Slice against the grain for the most tender result.

Can I reheat it?

Yes — gently reheat slices in a covered pan with a splash of water or stock over a low heat, or wrap in foil and warm in the oven at 160°C for 15–20 minutes. Don't overheat — it dries out quickly. Salt-beef is excellent eaten cold straight from the fridge, which is also perfectly acceptable.

How long will it keep?

Keep refrigerated and consume within 3–5 days of opening. Check the use-by date on the pack. Vacuum-packed, it will keep well until opened.

Your order will be sent via DPD to the postal address given, on the day of delivery DPD will send you a one hour timeslot for when their driver will drop off to your location. The driver will leave safe if you are not in so the box can be left outside until you arrive back home.
