Organic Parsnips | Fresh from Norfolk, Naturally Sweet & Perfect for Roasting

Grown organically in Norfolk, our Organic Parsnips are a world apart from the uniform, flavourless versions found in supermarkets. Naturally sweet, earthy and deeply flavoursome, these are the parsnips that steal the show on a Sunday roast. Roast them simply in butter and oil until caramelised, or try them finished with honey and grated Parmesan for something genuinely special. They come in natural shapes and sizes — a sign of genuinely organic produce.

Why You'll Love It

🌿 Naturally Sweet & Deeply Flavoursome – Grown slowly in Norfolk's fertile soil, these develop a sweetness and depth that commercially grown parsnips can't match.
🥕 Certified Organic, Norfolk – No pesticides or herbicides. Natural shapes and sizes, just as they should be.
🍽️ Outstanding Roasted – Finish with honey and Parmesan for an unforgettable side dish.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the best way to roast parsnips?

Par-boil for 5–7 minutes until just starting to soften, then drain and roast in hot fat (butter, goose fat or olive oil) at 200°C for 30–35 minutes until deeply golden and caramelised. In the last 5 minutes, drizzle with good honey and scatter over finely grated Parmesan — it creates a sticky, savoury-sweet crust that's hard to beat. Season well with sea salt throughout.

Why do they come in different shapes and sizes?

Because they're genuinely organic. Commercially grown parsnips are graded to uniform sizes for supermarket presentation — small, misshapen or forked parsnips are discarded. Organic produce comes in natural shapes and sizes, which is a sign of proper farming rather than a quality issue. Flavour is not affected by shape.

Can I use them for soup?

Outstanding for soup — parsnip and apple, parsnip and ginger, or a classic cream of parsnip are all exceptional. Their natural sweetness means they need very little seasoning. Roast them first before blending for a deeper, more complex flavour.

How should I store them?

Store in a cool, dark place — a cupboard or garage is ideal. They'll keep well for 1–2 weeks. If they start to soften slightly, roast them — they'll taste just as good. Avoid the fridge, which can make them go limp and affect the flavour.
